It’s all things equine at this educational theme park: working barns, live demos, museums, trail rides, kids’ activities, camping – all on a gorgeous horse farm.

WINTER AT THE PARK: The winter season is a time of rest and relaxation for our horses. They spend most of their time turned out to their paddocks but take turns visiting Park guests during Stall-Side Chats. Guests can also visit the International Museum of the Horse and the American Saddlebred MuseumHorseback and Pony Rides are closed for the winter season.

Southern Lights Holiday Festival

Celebrating its 29th year at the Kentucky Horse Park, Southern Lights presented by Friends of Coal is a magical holiday tradition for thousands of families throughout the Bluegrass and beyond.  See over a million twinkling lights from the safety of your car.  Enjoy the return of the Holiday Village which promises to be brighter than ever!  Featuring photos with Santa, Animal Land, model trains, and so much more, the Southern Lights Holiday Village is sure to delight guests of all ages.

Drive through the lights nightly, November 25-December 31 (Closed Christmas Day) from 5:30-10:00 pm. Avoid the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and check this item off your list by pre-purchasing your tickets!

Tickets purchased online in advance are $30 per carload.

Tickets purchased at the ticket booth are $35 per carload.

Celebration of Song

Celebrate the magic of the holiday season as we present our traditional Alltech Celebration of Song featuring the UK Opera Theatre and winners of the Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition. Parking is free. Donations will be accepted for Eastern Kentucky flood relief through the Pearse Lyons ACE Foundation.

Close out the evening with a drive through the sparkling Southern Lights display at the Kentucky Horse Park campground, a holiday tradition in the Bluegrass.
